About the role
CDM Smith is seeking Field Representatives to canvas neighborhoods in and around Milton, Pennsylvania as part of the Lead Service Replacement Program.
Responsibilities
- Conduct research and fieldwork, including neighborhood canvassing, to identify, evaluate, and document customer-side water service line materials as part of the Lead Service Line Replacement Program.
- Independently and with limited supervision, perform field and office activities related to the collection, assessment, and reporting of data.
- Document inspection findings and communicate issues to project leadership.
- Communicate with homeowners and project leaders to provide project progress status and updates.
- Research TAP Cards and gather specific data from the card.
- Photograph the exterior of the house, including the house number, as well as the interior service line materials for documentation purposes.
- Conduct inspections by walking assigned areas and collecting field data using tablets, smartphones, and computers.
- Create reports based on findings from the home material identification inspections.
- Comply with guidelines and regulations, including permits, safety, etc.
- Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- 0 years of relevant experience.
- Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Domestic and/or international travel may be required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior canvassing, inspection, or construction experience.
- Ability to quickly develop an understanding of the client’s products, services needed, and goals.
Skills & Abilities
- Basic knowledge of computer software programs and operating systems.
- Excellent communication skills and maintains a positive attitude.
- Comfortable working outdoors throughout the year in various weather conditions.
- Capable of working both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Able to work on your feet for 8+ hours and conduct numerous waterlines inspections per day.
- Comfortable entering private properties, residences, businesses, and public buildings.
- Able to stand, crouch, crawl, and kneel for prolonged periods.
- Familiar with basic construction, building materials, and public utilities.
- Proficient in the use of hand tools, tablets, and cell phones to document service line materials.
- Knowledgeable, familiar or willing to learn how to use GIS maps and navigation.
- Strong organizational skills to balance and prioritize work.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work with multiple stakeholders.
