Field Repair Technician

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot malfunctioning lab instruments or test equipment and test mechanical mechanisms and electronic circuitry for “root cause” failures.
• Perform hands-on repair for malfunctioning lab instruments or test equipment, and tests assembly for conformance, in accordance to manufacturer’s specifications.
• Willing and able to travel domestically and internationally, 50% of the time annually, to provide repair support to our direct market customers.
• Provide customers with phone and email recommendations to resolve lab instrument issues and or follow up with on-going issues with the customer.

Requirements

• Recognized Electrical or Mechanical Qualification with apprenticeship and 5 years work experience.
• Work experience with technical equipment, preferably in a laboratory setting.
• Credential to read and interpret documents, instructions and manuals.
• Diplomatic and tactful in reporting non-conforming events to management – with urgency.
• Proficient in computer skills and typing – Windows environment and Microsoft applications and relevant CRM systems.
• Experience with domestic and international travel.
• Clean driving record.
