About the role
Climax Molybdenum operates in Colorado, with mining and milling facilities near Leadville, Kremmling, and Empire. Our Climax Mine is situated between Frisco and Leadville, the highest incorporated city in the U.S. Employees working on-site are eligible for a $1,450 monthly housing allowance, subject to program guidelines. The town offers a variety of recreational activities, including hiking, skiing, and boating.
Responsibilities
- Safely performs maintenance, installation, and repair of equipment and processes in the Milling plant, including mills, conveyors, screens, and related systems.
- Aids in and performs component replacement and repairs on conveyor systems, ball mills, auto mills, screen decks, lube systems, filter drums, crushers, hydraulic filter presses, and foundry pumps.
- Performs mechanical and lubrication preventative maintenance, identifying potential failures, noises, and wear on agitators, rotors, belts, pulleys, gear boxes, and other components.
- May perform welding (stick, TIG).
- Maintains work orders, ensures a clean and safe work area, and conducts work area inspections.
- Performs other duties as required.
Requirements
- One (1) year of experience in mechanical/maintenance or a combination of education and experience in industrial mechanical repair and maintenance.
- Ability to read and use schematics and blueprints.
- Must have completed academic and competency requirements, and demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
- Selected candidates must demonstrate the ability to apply knowledge and technical skills, as well as pass a written assessment based on technical skills and/or academic knowledge, as well as safety.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED.
What We Offer
The estimated pay range for this role is $26.00 - $33.00 per hour. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonuses, benefits, or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills, and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payments based on company and individual performance.
