About the role
We are seeking an experienced Property Field Adjuster claims professional who resides in Westchester, New York or Rockland, New York. This role involves investigating and confirming the facts of loss for the most complex Homeowner's Claims, determining coverage and damages, and negotiating claims within the limit of authority. The position requires creating comprehensive estimates of damages for complex first-party homeowner claims and leading to proper disposition. This role serves as a peer mentor and may assign direction to more junior employees, having mastered processes and obtained technical expertise.
Candidates should have a strong background handling high-volume and complex homeowners claims, including losses up to $250K, with expertise in writing and reviewing complex repair estimates, managing high-value properties, and owning claims from start to finish across all exposures (dwelling, contents, ALE, mitigation, and supplements). Preferred background includes insurance carrier experience with field exposure and the ability to effectively partner with independent adjusters and cross-functional teams. Strong communication skills, a collaborative approach, and the ability to navigate complex loss scenarios such as storm, water, and hail claims are essential. A proven track record of providing excellent customer service, including supporting escalations, is required.
Responsibilities
- Exhibit mastery in estimating fundamentals to create damage estimates for the most complex first-party homeowner losses of all severities.
- Build and maintain mastered relationships with both internal and external customers.
- Interpret regulatory compliance and fair claims practices.
- Negotiate settlements, make settlement payments, and document all activities in complex files.
- Apply mastered content in interpretations of all policy types written by the company and assist leadership in formal and ad hoc training.
- Recommend process improvements.

- As a requirement of employment, individuals who currently hold an active insurance license must terminate all existing appointments prior to onboarding and must not hold any outside appointments during employment.

Pay
Base compensation offered for this role is:
- Field Property Adjuster Cons II: $56,000.00 - $82,500.00/salary
- Field Property Adjuster Sr Cons I: $65,600.00 - $98,200.00/salary
- Field Property Adjuster Sr Cons II: $65,600.00 - $98,200.00/salary
Compensation is based on experience and qualifications. Total compensation for this role may include additional components, such as incentive pay (e.g., commission or bonus), if applicable.
