Job Summary The Project Controller is responsible for overseeing the financial performance of assigned projects from start to finish. This role ensures accurate budgeting, cost tracking, billing, forecasting, and financial reporting while partnering closely with project managers, field teams, and finance leadership to support informed decision-making and maintain financial controls. Key Responsibilities Manage project budgets, including setup, monitoring, forecasting, and variance analysis.Track project costs, labor, equipment, and expenses to ensure alignment with approved budgets.Assist with preparing WIP schedules and cost-to-complete forecasts.Prepare and review client billings, invoices, and revenue recognition in accordance with contract terms.Analyze project financial performance and provide regular reports to project managers and leadership.Identify financial risks, cost overruns, and opportunities to improve project profitability.Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and contractual requirements.Reconcile project accounts and support month-end and year-end close processes.Assist with audits by providing project documentation and financial support.Collaborate with project managers and field leadership to improve cost controls and financial accuracy.Review field reports, labor hours, equipment usage, and production data to ensure accurate project cost reporting.Manage and track purchase orders and change orders to ensure accurate cost reporting, budget alignment, and timely processing.Participate in project meetings to support forecasting, reporting, and operational decision-making. Required Qualifications This project is in the Corpus Christi, TX areaBachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field2–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in project-based environments (construction, engineering, professional services, etc.)Strong understanding of project accounting, budgeting, and cost trackingProficiency in accounting software and Microsoft ExcelSolid analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skillsAbility to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously Preferred Qualifications Experience with ERP or project management systems.
