Field Power Generator Technician

Responsibilities

• Perform load bank testing, commissioning, and preventive maintenance on CAT diesel and gas generators (5KW to 2MEG).
• Use diagnostic tools such as CAT ET - Electronic Technician, SIS (Service Information System), and other computer-based diagnostic tools/software to troubleshoot issues.
• Provide exceptional customer service and technical support to internal and external customers.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose emergency repair procedures of AC/DC controls and gas and diesel industrial engines.
• Read and understand wiring diagrams and schematics.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols and documentation standards.

Requirements

• One-year certificate or Associates degree from a community college or technical school.
• Minimum five plus years of CAT dealer experience and five years of power equipment industry experience.
• Knowledge of automatic transfer switches and control logic.
• Troubleshooting and diagnosing emergency repair procedures of AC/DC controls and gas and diesel industrial engines.
• Reading and understanding wiring diagrams and schematics.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal daily supervision.
• Working in a safe manner at all times.

Qualifications

• Must be able to successfully complete a background check.

Pay

$33.00 - $56.00 per hour.
