Field Operator II - Compressor Operator

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor natural gas compressors, dehydration units, and associated equipment to support safe and efficient station performance.
• Adjust operating parameters to maintain pressure, flow, efficiency, and overall equipment reliability.
• Carry out routine inspections and record operating readings to identify irregularities or developing issues.
• Perform minor maintenance activities and support repair work on compressors, engines, and auxiliary systems.
• Identify mechanical or process issues and escalate them appropriately to maintenance personnel.
• Assist with troubleshooting of electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic control systems.
• Maintain accurate daily logs covering operating data, maintenance activity, and safety checks.
• Report equipment malfunctions, safety concerns, and operational deviations in a timely manner.
• Support the oversight and scheduling of preventative maintenance and maintenance work with contract compressor mechanics, generator mechanics, and emissions testing personnel.

Qualifications & Experience

• 2-5 years of experience in gas compression, oil and gas operations, or industrial maintenance.
• Familiarity with rotating equipment, instrumentation, and process controls.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting capability.
• Ability to read P&IDs, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Technical or vocational training in addition to high school diploma or equivalent.
