Field Operator II

About the role

The Field Operator’s role undertakes hands-on tasks and utilizes Weatherford’s equipment, machinery, and systems. The role applies techniques and practices to complete assignments using technical manuals, procedures, and work instructions. More senior roles may include leadership responsibilities at the rig site for other Field Operators.

Responsibilities

• Safety, Security & Compliance
  • Maintains the highest standards of corporate governance, ensuring all activities comply with Weatherford’s Security, Compliance & HSE policies, Management System, relevant laws, regulations, standards, and industry practices.

• Operations
  • Performs duties according to documented Weatherford policies, Standard Operating Procedures, and Work Place Practices.
  • Participates in daily operations & safety meetings, toolbox talks, Job Hazard Analysis (JHA), and reports issues promptly.
  • Maintains equipment, facilities, and work areas in a safe and presentable condition.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of policies, procedures, and technical work instructions.
  • Performs functional tests, inspections, and monitoring of equipment.
  • Inspects used parts for dimensional changes using measuring instruments.
  • Follows maintenance processes for unloading, disassembly, cleaning, pressure testing, assembly, loading, and storage of tools.
  • Rigs up/down equipment with strict adherence to work instructions.
  • Cleans, lubricates, repairs, and operates equipment as per work instructions.
  • Services and maintains mechanical, electronic, and hydraulic components.
  • Drives vehicles such as pickups, trucks, and truck-mounted units to well sites while maintaining a satisfactory driving record.
  • In senior positions, leads other field operators in planning, coordination, troubleshooting, and mentoring.

  • Maintains effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Supervisors & Managers clearly communicate expectations, roles, and responsibilities.

  • Accountable for financial responsibility, ensuring costs are within approved budgets and processed timely.

  • Responsible for personal career development, including completing necessary training.
  • Engages with line managers to discuss performance, objectives, and skill enhancement.

• Performs other duties safely as assigned by a supervisor within physical job constraints.

Requirements

• 1 – 2 ½ years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry.
• High School Diploma.
• Basic computer skills.

Travel

This role may require domestic and potentially international travel of up to 50-75%.
