Field Operations Supervisor
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and safety-focused Environmental & Remediation Field Supervisor to lead crews and oversee equipment operations on active project sites. This role is responsible for ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in full alignment with client expectations and project specifications.
Key Responsibilities
Lead by example in maintaining a strong safety culture for all crew members and subcontractors
Enforce compliance with all safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements on-site
Supervise daily field operations to ensure quality, efficiency, and adherence to project scope
Perform and oversee a wide range of construction and remediation activities, including:
- Heavy equipment operation (excavators, dozers, loaders, backhoes, skid steers, off-road trucks, rollers, water trucks)
- Site preparation activities such as clearing, grubbing, excavation, grading, and backfilling
- Installation and operation of dewatering and water treatment systems
- Installation of AS/SVE and related remediation systems (PVC and HDPE piping)
- Ast and UST removal, cleaning, and closure activities
- Excavation safety systems including sloping, sheet piling, and trench boxes
- Site restoration work including asphalt, concrete, fencing, sod, and seeding
Coordinate with Project Managers to ensure proper staffing, equipment, and material availability
Manage subcontractors and oversee vendor deliveries to maintain project schedules
Read and interpret plans, specifications, drawings, and work orders to execute tasks accurately
Load and prepare equipment and materials for job site deployment
Assist with operation of tools and equipment as needed
Inspect equipment, tools, and work areas to ensure safe and efficient operations
Maintain clean, organized, and safe work environments at all times
Complete required paperwork, including service reports and job documentation
Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and clients as needed
Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of experience in heavy equipment operation and crew leadership within construction and environmental remediation
Strong commitment to safety and field leadership excellence
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, surveys, construction drawings, and technical specifications
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Proven ability to lead, motivate, and manage field teams
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat preferred
Valid driver’s license required; CDL strongly preferred
