Field Network Technician III

About the Role

Long term contract to potential hire position based in Louisville, KY with guaranteed 40 hours per week. Home-based dispatch with weekend and on-call work required as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Fiber optic cable experience required
• Install and maintain voice, data, security, and VoIP communication systems and equipment
• Complete assigned work orders with a strong commitment to quality and customer satisfaction
• Use a laptop and various software applications to manage work orders and documentation
• Provide high-level customer service
• Drive to and from customers' business locations in a defined geographic area performing installation and repair of internet, copper and fiber cabling, rack mounted routers, demarcation extensions, and more
• Receive and complete work orders from a centralized dispatch center ensuring that routes are efficient, and that service is delivered in a timely manner
• Troubleshoot technical issues such as installing cable runs, swapping out cards, installing data circuits for internet connections
• Ensure vehicle, test equipment, and tools are maintained in excellent condition

Qualifications

• 5 plus years of previous experience in telecommunications, business installation, and service for electronics and appliances, security, cabling
• 1-5 years of experience in telecommunications or a related electrical field
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently with a high level of technical aptitude
• Experience working with Cisco systems or similar equipment manufacturers
• Ability to test, measure and troubleshoot fiber optic networks

Pay

$30 - $35 per hour
