Field Network Engineer

Location of work may vary across the United States. Candidates must reside within IL, WI, IA, or MO.

About the role

The Field Network Engineer uses their technical knowledge to install, configure, and customize healthcare infrastructure systems after an initial purchase of hardware or software.

Responsibilities

• Assess and remediate existing infrastructure to support installation of new solution.
• Perform installation, validation, and connectivity on assigned equipment.
• Leverage technical knowledge to install, monitor, and customize clients' systems after an initial purchase of hardware or software.
• Ensure a positive client experience with purchased products.
• Collaborate and partner with Sales, Project Manager, Network Design and Digital services, customer IT, and biomed to implement solutions sold.
• Consult with IT and biomed on customer requirements for installation and address cyber security concerns.
• Function as co-lead; develop and maintain strong relationships and frequent communications with customers and sales to proactively identify customer needs, ensure resolution, proper follow-up, and ongoing customer satisfaction.
• Maintain prompt administrative responsibilities such as customer service logs, internal service records, technical project plans, technical walkthroughs, and post-warranty conversations with customers.
• Manage vendor service as needed.
• Mentor and coach local Field Engineers on installed solutions.
• Provide instruction to personnel on equipment operation, diagnostics, effective use, and repair.
• Support engineering for new product releases.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience in IT.
• 1-3 years of experience in installing and configuring network equipment.
• Certified in CompTIA Network+, CCNA, or CCWA.
• Bachelor’s or associate degree or equivalent experience.
• Demonstrated experience with communicating and remediating networking infrastructure.
• Demonstrated experience implementing disaster recovery procedures.
• Maintaining current knowledge and understanding of security and networking best practices to offer the best solutions and protection to company systems.
• Understanding of cyber security vulnerabilities.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Comfortability working in a healthcare setting.
• Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 35 lbs. unassisted and frequently bend, stoop, twist, climb, crouch/squat, kneel/crawl, sit, and stand for long periods of time.
• Must be able to reach at, above, and below shoulder level, flex/extend neck, and have good hand and finger dexterity.
• Specific vision abilities required include color, close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
• Must have and maintain a valid Driver’s License.
• Willingness to be available "after hours", including weekends, for critical issues and coverage, as necessary.
• Willingness to travel across the US, up to 90%.

Schedule

• 90% travel position.
• Monday morning through Friday afternoon on the road; home most weekends.
• Overnight hotel stays Monday-Thursday.
• Company vehicle provided.
• Hotels, airfare (when applicable), fuel, meals, and travel expenses are company paid.

Pay

$65,000 - $75,000 Salary
