About the role
This role is for a traveling field mechanic who will diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues in the field. You will also perform preventative maintenance to reduce downtime and execute rapid-response repairs to keep crews operational.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues in the field
- Perform preventative maintenance to reduce downtime
- Execute rapid-response repairs to keep crews operational
- Identify root causes, not just symptoms
- Track and document work, parts, and equipment status
- Train operators on basic maintenance and early issue detection
- Travel extensively and work in physically demanding environments
Requirements
- Experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic
- Strong troubleshooting across mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
- Ability to work independently with high ownership
- Willingness to travel up to 100%
Preferred
- 5+ years in heavy construction equipment (field-based)
- Advanced hydraulics/electrical diagnostics
- CDL and/or relevant certifications

- Compensation & Benefits
- This is a SALARIED, non-exempt role so you'll always get your base pay plus an overtime wage when you work more than 40 hours in a week $33–$42/hour + overtime
