Field Mechanic Welder
Your responsibilities
- Install, repair, replace, and dismantle machinery according to blueprint specifications.
- Act as signal person for A-C employed crane operators to ensure continuity of safety on the worksite.
- Use hoists, pulleys, jacks, and come-a-longs to perform tasks.
- Fit bearings, align gears and wheels and attach motors.
- Welding: Join steel materials with various arc welding processes to form a permanent bond.
- Cutting: Use heat from burning gases or an electric arc to cut and trim metal objects to specific dimensions.
- Move equipment and materials to different locations using a forklift and/or manlift.
- Demonstrate a commitment to safety.
Required Education & Experience
- A High School degree or General Education degree (GED) and 1-2 years welding experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
- Flux core Arc Welding (FCAW) must pass a qualification test.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Welder.
- Experience with welding on heavy plate steel/structural steel.
- Prior experience working in construction industry/activities in a Cement, Paper, or Mineral/Aggregate processing environment.
- Dedication to safe and environmentally compliant work.
- Knowledge of MSHA and OSHA regulations.
- Able to show initiative and decisiveness.
- Work well within a team environment.

- The employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and extreme heat.
- The work requires using ladders, scaffolding, and catwalks to access elevated areas.
- The noise level in the work environment is sometimes loud.
