Perform troubleshooting, repairs, and rebuilds on heavy mining equipment, supporting site mechanics with advanced technical expertise. Maintain and operate service trucks safely and reliably per DOT standards. Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Equipment Management, Preventative Maintenance, Reactive Maintenance, and Housekeeping while training and mentoring others.
Responsibilities
- Reactive Maintenance (80%)
- Troubleshoot, repair, and train others on advanced electrical, hydraulic, engine, and powertrain systems.
- Diagnose and repair machine systems (e.g., emissions, AC, monitoring systems) and rebuild components like brakes, differentials, and drives.
- Serve as a leader in system analysis, failure diagnosis, and root cause resolution.
- Provide on-the-job training to others.
- Equipment Management (10%)
- Guide others on equipment repairs, inventory management, and vendor communication.
- Train teams on using Dyna-way, CAT Unified Suites, CAT ET, and SIS for diagnostics, repairs, and oil sample analysis.
- Preventative Maintenance & Housekeeping (10%)
- Analyze oil sample results, train on SOP services, and plan for wear item replacement.
- Lead housekeeping standards to maintain an organized and efficient service truck.
Requirements
- Education: High School Diploma or GED
- Experience: 5+ years in mobile equipment repair with expert-level skills in hydraulics, electrical, powertrain, and systems operations.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Dyna-way, CAT ET/SIS, and system tooling; ability to read schematics and stay current on DOT regulations.
- Certifications: First Aid Card, DOT Certification
