Primary Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair all types of trucks and heavy equipment, including skid steers, front-end loaders, dozers, haul trucks, excavators, cranes, etc.
- Respond to equipment breakdowns in the field and complete timely repairs to keep paving operations running smoothly.
- Operate service truck equipped with tools, parts, and diagnostic equipment.
- Maintain accurate work orders.
- Perform welding, fabrication, and basic machining as needed for equipment repair.
- Ensure all repairs meet company safety standards and DOT requirements.
- Conduct routine and preventative maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Work Environment
- Constant exposure to various weather conditions typical in the states where the work is performed, including noise, dust, and other materials.
- The work environment is in areas where heavy equipment, power tools and traffic are present.
- Exposure to heights up to 50 feet and depths of up to 80 feet in this construction work environment.
- Demonstrate or be corrected to 20/20 vision.
Physical Demands
- Frequent lifting (including above shoulder or head), moving, and carrying up to 50 pounds.
- Frequently standing, walking, sitting, using hands to input information, handling, carrying (with and without assistance), feeling objects, tools (of varying size and weight), or controls.
- Frequently reaching with hands and arms, climbing stairs, balancing, stooping, kneeling, bending, twisting, crouching, or crawling.
- Talking and hearing.
- Taste or smell.
- Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Frequent exposure to high noise levels.
