Responsibilities
- Diagnose equipment problems, using judgement to determine how to repair or replace.
- Repair and maintain equipment and building electrical wiring, plumbing, refrigeration, and fuel devices.
- Use instruments to test and evaluate performance of equipment; repair or replace defective valves, thermostats, and other parts.
- Install electrical equipment, and repair or replace wiring, fixtures, and bulbs.
- Complete service documentation on what was installed, replaced, or repaired after each call.
- Reports must be accurately completed and submitted upon completion of job.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Knowledge of tools and equipment used in building and mechanical trades.
- Prior experience with installing and repairing electrical systems, plumbing, and refrigeration equipment and parts.
- HVAC certification preferred.
- EPA Type 1 and 2 or Universal Certification required or ability to obtain within 180 days of hire date.
- Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
- Able to interpret blueprints, sketches, and verbal and written instruction.
- Able to respond and adjust to changing or new situations.
- Work well in high stress environments and maintain professionalism.
- Able to care for guests, communities, and colleagues.

Pay
Starting hiring range: $25.50 - $33.50. Actual pay may vary based on Casey’s assessment of the candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities (KSAs), related experience, education, and qualifications. Other factors impacting pay include local prevailing wages and internal equity. This position is eligible for an annual cash bonus based on company performance.
Schedule
Work is primarily performed in a store setting. Travel with overnight stays required 20% to 40% of the time.
Physical Demands & Environmental Conditions
- Must be able to frequently (46-100% of the workday): Use eyesight to complete tasks, lift up to 10 pounds, use repetitive motions while working, operate machinery (company vehicle, various power and hand tools), work in varying temperatures (heat and cold), work in humidity and other outdoor elements (precipitation and wind).
- Must be able to occasionally (16-45% of the workday): Bend/stoop/crouch to retrieve items from low positions, reach at shoulder level, sit and speak, stand and walk up to 300 feet at a time.
- Must be able to rarely (0-15% of the workday): Climb (on ladder to examine and monitor items at high positions), kneel and squat to examine items at low positions, lift up to 50 pounds+ from ground to chest level, reach above shoulder level and below waist, push/pull.
