Field Labor
About the role
The primary focus of the Field Construction Laborer is to assist all self-perform construction disciplines; including but not limited to general organization of the site and overall self-perform trade support.
Job Duties
- Ability to read/interpret blueprints and shop drawings
- Ability to frame using wood or metal studs, hanging and finishing drywall, painting, flooring, build and installing casework
- Ability to finish concrete as needed
- General jobsite clean-up as needed
- Convey important site information to Site Superintendent
- Communicate on a regular basis with Site Superintendent
- Follow all company and or OSHA safety policies and procedures
- Participate in Safety meetings and training as required
- Participate in Good Catch Program and Near Miss Program
- Ability to travel and work overtime and nights as necessary
Skills, Knowledge, Qualification and Experience
- Proficient in carpentry techniques and tools
- Knowledge of metal stud framing and drywall installation
- Experience with roofing materials and installation methods
- Familiarity with various types of flooring installation techniques
- Understanding of frame carpentry principles and practices
- A high sense of urgency and set priorities
- Must be a team player with a positive, collaborative attitude
Physical Demands
- Sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls
- Reach with hands, talk, and hear
- View a computer monitor and use a computer keyboard
- Close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
- Mobile, occasionally travels both short and long distances via a variety of conveyances
- Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds
Work Environment
- Onsite construction setting
- Moderate to loud noise in the work environment
- Moving mechanical parts, high precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, outside weather conditions, and risk of electrical shock
- Compliance with company safety policies, procedures, and applicable laws
