Field Instrument Repair Technician FREQUENT TRAVEL REQUIRED

Responsibilities

  • Serve the customer, and exceed their expectations, as they are our first priority.
  • Repair and calibrate client & field equipment according to current manufacturer standards.
  • Perform field calibrations and instrument pick-ups.
  • Inform the Manager of problems occurring during the repair cycle, delaying return of the instrument to service.
  • Keep daily records of all inventory transactions.
  • Prepare weekly inventory control reports.
  • Ship and receive orders, inventory and equipment.
  • Prepare and process repair orders for client and field equipment.
  • Aid with the inventory control and shipping operation as necessary.
  • Maintain QC records concerning repaired instruments.
  • Ensure a positive rapport and work relationship with all clients and field personnel.
  • Perform other duties as deemed necessary by the Manager.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Two-year technical degree or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of instrument repair experience preferred.
  • Must have strong computer skills.
  • Not afraid to learn new skills quickly.
  • Holds a legal driver’s license, can drive company vehicles.

Physical Requirements

  • Regularly required to stand.
  • Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and to climb or balance.
  • Occasionally required to walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • Occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock.
  • Primarily a Manufacturing environment.
  • Exposed to vibration.
  • Works near moving mechanical parts and in high, precarious places.
  • Occasionally exposed to noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.

Knowledge, Skills, And Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Two-year technical degree or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of instrument repair experience preferred.

  • Not afraid to learn new skills quickly.
  • Legal driver’s license, can drive company vehicles.

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $22-25 per hour (depending on experience level with repairing electronics)

Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday, 7 am-3:30 pm plus overtime required to account for travel and time sensitive repairs.
