Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform an assessment of AC and DC power risk related to the project and develop a plan to mitigate the risk.
- This assessment is to include (but not be limited to) arc flash hazard protection requirements. The risk and associated mitigation plan are to be reviewed during the project kick-off call.
- Write DMOPS in adherence with Customer, vendor, and industry standards and requirements.
- Perform an inventory of materials against the BOM and Engineering documents.
- Report any shortages to the Project Supervisor.
- Perform an on-site layout of the project in accordance with the Engineering documents and BOM prior to the start of construction.
- Communicate with the Project Engineer to resolve any discrepancies.
- Install and/or modify cable conveyances and office infrastructure per the Engineering documents and customer standards.
- Pull cable into place per the Engineering documents and on-site installation layout.
- Demonstrate proper lacing technique.
- Install, replace, or repair DC power equipment, batteries, and associated equipment per the Engineering documents and customer standards.
- Perform additions, removals, and modifications on working equipment and circuits including circuit modifications, software additions or upgrades, power transition work, and addition or removal of batteries.
- Perform initial programming of DC power plant controllers.
- Input changes into DC power plant controllers as required.
- Perform Midtronics battery testing and interpret results; address any notable deviations.
- Perform battery charging per customer's standards.
- Complete quality checklist at completion of the job and ensure correction of any quality non-conformances.
- Working with the customer (if required) or independently, perform equipment test and turn-up.
- Mark/correct office record drawings.
- Perform site surveys independently.
Minimum Qualifications
- Serve as the Installation Supplier's in-charge person.
- Supervise multiple sites in a thorough manner.
- Manage inventory of material and equipment for each assigned project.
- Keep Project Management team and all customer stakeholders updated on project as requested.
- Accurately track all time and expenses and submit using approved methods on a timely basis.
- Responsible for timely job completion within budgeted man hours.
- Identify, communicate and facilitate resolution of job issues (e.g., Client, material, engineering, technical support, etc.) in a timely manner.
- Direct supervision and on-the-job training of field personnel.
- Effectively delegate tasks and assignments.
- Mentor lower-level installation technicians.
- Enforce corporate and divisional policies.
