About the role
This is a full-time position with benefits.Responsibilities
- Manages, coordinates, and develops work plans and schedules of field and infrastructure inspections and development projects to ensure compliance with approved plans, standards, and regulations.
- Supervises and participates in field inspection operations.
- Train, supervise, and evaluate personnel; Participates in the selection of new employees; approves leave requests; counsels and disciplines employees.
- Affords assistance in the development and implementation of standard operating procedures.
- Ensures compliance with the Water System’s Developmental Standards.
- Captures planned interruptions of water service for construction projects.
- Prepares operational activity reports.
- Maintains compliance with project submittals from developers and contractors to support timely reviews and project closeouts, including easement coordination through review, approval, recording, and filing.
- Prepares operational reports and communicates inspection status, findings, and project updates to management and stakeholders.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with completion of specialized training in the field of work, in addition to basic skills typically associated with a high school education.
- Experience sufficient to thoroughly understand the diverse objectives in the department in order to direct and coordinate work within the division/department, usually interpreted to require three to five years of related experience.
- Completion of approved Water Utility Inspector training.
- Completion of approved National Safety Council traffic control course as well as work zone course.
- Possession of an appropriate state-certified water distribution operator’s certification.
- Possession of valid Class B commercial driver’s license issued by the State of Georgia.
- Possession of ability to readily obtain GSWCC Level 1B Advanced Fundamentals certification - Red Card
