Field Incident Investigator, Eastern North America

What You'll Do

• Detect investigations of field incidents to support engineering, regulatory, and legal requests
• Inspect incident vehicles and incident sites, including documentation and collection of electronic data
• Participate in reviews of incidents with vehicle engineering, safety, and AI teams within Tesla
• Compile CAN log, EDR and other telemetry data for a given incident or incidents in order to meet information requests from regulatory authorities
• Organize and compile reports on incidents for internal release

What You'll Bring

• Specific training or accreditation in collision reconstruction/investigation
• Experience in vehicle crash investigations (including vehicle/scene inspections, Event Data Recorder (EDR) collection, forensic photography, and scene scanning equipment)
• Experience in analyzing electronic vehicle data (e.g. CAN and EDR)
• Experience working with local and/or federal law enforcement personnel regarding case investigations desired
• Travel to incident sites and vehicles to perform inspections
• Strong interpersonal and written communication skills
• Mechanical aptitude and experience with automotive components
