Key member of the Operations and HR team responsible for leading HR initiatives, protocols, and policies within a defined operational territory. Focus areas include Talent Development and Onboarding, Retention, Leadership Skill Building, Workforce Planning, Compliance, and Associate Relations. The role aims to positively impact all aspects of the talent management system across all locations within the territory.
Responsibilities
- Lead local associate experience and retention efforts through enterprise programs such as new associate orientation, global engagement surveys, and recognition events.
- Identify and design solutions to address local retention challenges and support Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) efforts.
- Support workforce planning and talent acquisition by resolving requisition issues, advising on local diverse recruiting sources, and proposing staffing levels based on growth trends.
- Collaborate on leadership recruiting and participate in the selection process for critical roles.
- Partner with Area HR Manager in start-up activities for new business and assist in transition through orientation and onboarding.
- Maintain oversight of associate performance and ensure development plans are in place.
- Oversee annual talent review and succession planning, leveraging leadership development tools.
- Communicate and reinforce training on performance management, safety, workplace violence, harassment, equal opportunity, wage and hour laws, and diversity & inclusion.
- Conduct regular location assessments and coach management on policy interpretation and execution, including collective bargaining agreements.
- Investigate associate complaints and collaborate with managers, legal, labor relations, and security to resolve issues.
- Engage management in the performance management process using training tools, coaching, and corrective counseling.
- Provide operations leaders with HR metrics and analytics (e.g., turnover, retention, LOA, exit interview data) to guide business decisions.
- Analyze associate data for compliance with policies, compensation parity, FLSA, and consistent practices; facilitate resolution of payroll issues.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 3+ years’ experience in Staffing, Human Resources, or a related field; relevant experience will be considered.
- Professional certification in SHRM or HRCI preferred.
- Strong knowledge of HR functions and employment law.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and a strong sense of urgency.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and documentation skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-sensitive environment.
- Adaptable quick learner with the ability to master company systems and processes.
- Up to 50% overnight travel required, supporting up to 550 associates in 28 locations.
- Regular, predictable, full attendance is essential.
- Willingness to travel, work the required schedule, and complete employment processes (background investigation, drug screening).
Physical Requirements
- Read, communicate verbally and in writing, and analyze information.
- Stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle objects, and occasionally lift up to 25 lbs/12 kg.
- Specific vision abilities: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Position can be based in Houston, TX or Irving, TX. Requires regular weekly onsite HR presence at all local operations to support associates.
