ABM Industries is hiring a Field HR Partner to support front-line employees, supervisors, and managers across all ABM industry groups in Oregon and Eastern Washington. In this role, you will align business objectives with employees and front-line leaders, serving as a consultant on human resource-related issues. The successful candidate acts as an employee champion and change agent, assessing and anticipating HR-related needs while collaborating with HR centers of excellence to achieve talent goals that drive business performance. The position implements innovative and practical solutions through a strong process and metrics focus, partnering across HR functions to deliver value-added service that reflects the organization’s business objectives. Bilingual (English/Spanish) ability is preferred.

This is a hybrid role (expected in-office 4 days/week) located at 5601 6th Avenue South, Suite 350, Seattle, WA 98108.

Responsibilities

  • Consult with line management, providing HR guidance when appropriate.
  • Build and maintain an environment for team members that results in a high customer-focused and engaged workforce.
  • Review onboarding and orientation for new leaders.
  • Analyze trends and metrics, seeking opportunities and strategies to improve turnover, retention, and key indicators of employee and customer engagement.
  • Partner with leadership to understand current and future staffing needs.
  • Partner with the Talent Team to develop workforce plans that respond to current and future staffing needs.
  • Partner with the Learning & Development Team to ensure key programs are focused on front-line managers and team members.
  • Manage and resolve employee relations issues; conduct effective, thorough, and objective investigations.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance; partner with legal as needed.
  • Provide day-to-day performance management guidance to front-line leaders (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
  • Work closely with front-line leaders to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
  • Provide HR policy guidance and interpretation.
  • Provide guidance and input on business restructures, workforce planning, and succession planning.
  • Identify training needs for business and individual coaching needs.
  • Participate in evaluation and monitoring of training programs to ensure success; follow up to ensure training objectives are met.
  • Partner with HR Centers of Excellence to deliver programs to meet organizational goals.
  • Review key business performance targets and their related talent implications with business leaders.
  • Support customer retention and business development through direct involvement with the key customer base.
  • Identify and drive the sharing of best practices across functions to facilitate continuous improvement.
  • Understand and mitigate corporate risk associated with relevant employment laws/policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management or related field (in lieu of degree, 10+ years of related experience required).
  • Minimum of 5 years of applicable experience in Human Resources.
  • Experience with a large hourly and distributed workforce is a strong plus.
  • Experience working with union and non-union employees preferred.
  • Must be able to travel within the region supported up to 25%.

Skills

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) ability preferred.
  • Clear, comprehensive understanding of the link between talent and other HR initiatives and business strategy.
  • Strong consultation and communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively challenge, influence, and develop productive relationships inside and outside of HR.
  • Intellectual agility, interpersonal flexibility, and deep curiosity to learn.
  • Exposure to strong process and project management discipline.
  • Effective team player and networker.

Pay

The pay listed is the salary range for this position: $95,000–$115,000. Any specific offer will vary based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, and alignment with market data. You may be eligible to participate in a company incentive or bonus program.
