About the role
The Field Forklift Service Technician is responsible for performing mechanical inspections, repairs, and preventative maintenance on customer and rental material handling equipment. This hands-on role involves diagnosing equipment issues, providing efficient repairs, and ensuring excellent customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, safety-focused, and has strong communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Perform mechanical inspections on customer and rental equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
- Complete equipment repairs in a timely, efficient, and professional manner.
- Troubleshoot equipment problems and obtain customer approval before performing repairs.
- Open and close required work orders for customer repairs in a timely fashion.
- Maintain accurate daily time sheets and document all completed work.
- Perform preventative maintenance (PM) on material handling equipment.
- Order parts for PM, service jobs, warranty repairs, and other maintenance tasks.
- Ensure cleanliness and maintenance of the company vehicle, reporting any necessary repairs.
- Communicate effectively with Sales and Management regarding customer issues.
- Observe and promote safe work practices and procedures at all times.
- Perform miscellaneous tasks and duties as requested by management.
Requirements
- A High School Diploma or equivalent.
- At least 2 years of industry experience with a mechanically inclined background.
- A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Knowledge of various brands of material handling equipment and principles of inventory management.
- Proficiency in basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, prioritize tasks, and meet customer needs promptly.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to resolve issues calmly and professionally.
- Ability to adhere to company safety requirements, including wearing appropriate protective gear.
Qualifications

Hourly Rate Range: $22.00 - $38.00
