Field Engineering Design Supervisor (Hybrid Schedule)

About the role
This leadership role will direct, coordinate, and supervise the daily activities of field engineering designers in assigning work, prioritizing assignments, addressing customer requests (new service/reliability) and creating detailed construction designs for large distribution construction projects, State highway relocation work, third party make ready and other special projects.
Responsibilities
- Review and approve work for internal/external customer requests, maintenance, annual and project work.
- Directly supervise, coach, mentor, safety leadership and technical guidance to assigned staff in support of producing high quality, timely and cost-effective solutions to technical and business objectives and provides customers with safe, reliable, competitively priced and environmentally sound electric service.
- Collaborate with other Engineers within Engineering to ensure consistency and teamwork.
- Assists with evaluation and development of new technology, equipment, systems, tools, standards and procedures.
- Supports regulatory commitments involving local towns, state and federal regulatory agencies in accordance with current Eversource policies.
- Provides coaching, feedback, development and training of field engineering staff, encourages continuous improvement of performance through teamwork. Assesses training needs and helps develop training programs and monitors their effectiveness.
- Coordinates Damage Assessment, System Modeling or other assignments as required in support of storm events.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of related technical experience is required. Previous experience in electric distribution is preferred. Previous experience in a supervisory role is also preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership skills by achieving positive results under non-ideal circumstances.
- Working knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry codes and standards related to the electric utility industry.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent related technical experience required. A Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or engineering technology from a college or university accredited by ABET preferred.
- Ability to effectively deal with people at all levels, both internal and external to the company.
- Effective communication skills with strengths in employee relations focusing on a team environment.
- Thorough knowledge of Eversource distribution standards, policies, regulations, engineering specifications, applicable codes, union contracts, Information and Requirements book, procedures and practices.
- Thorough knowledge of Company software and computer navigations skills.
- Athorough knowledge of company software such as Maximo, Outage Management System (OMS), Outage Management Assessment (OMA), Workday, Workforce, Power Plan, Power Bi, Etc. is required.
- Knowledge of data analytics and AI related tools is preferred.
- Comprehensive knowledge of department programs, policies, procedures and business plans.
- Sound judgment, technical insight, and strong initiative to direct others on resolution of complex issues.

Eversource offers a competitive total rewards program. Salary is commensurate with your experience. This position is eligible for a potential incentive. The annual salary range for this position is: $129,660.00-$144,070.00.
