Field Engineer / Survey Party Chief
About the role
Bo-Mac Contractors, Ltd. in the BROWNSVILLE, TX area is offering challenging and exciting career opportunities for a Field Engineer / Survey Party Chief. We are seeking qualified candidates that are detail-oriented and experienced in Construction Surveying to join our team. This role is critical to ensure that structures, utilities, and site features are built according to design specifications.
Responsibilities
- Perform construction layout for foundations, utilities, roads, and other site features.
- Establish and maintain horizontal and vertical control points.
- Interpret construction drawings and coordinate with project teams to ensure accurate field implementation.
- Operate total stations, GPS, and robotic instruments for layout and data collection.
- Maintain detailed field notes and records of survey activities.
- Assist with as-built surveys and quantity verification.
- Collaborate with superintendents, engineers, and subcontractors to resolve layout issues.
Requirements
- Experience in industrial construction surveying.
- Proficiency with survey software.
- Strong understanding of geodetic principles and coordinate systems.
- Ability to work in challenging environments.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Qualifications
Preference given to candidates with 5 years of Field Engineer / Survey Party Chief experience at meets or exceeds performance expectations.
