Field Engineer I- Structured Cable

Field Engineering Responsibilities

• Oversee submitting changes to SoW and completing/redlining them.
• Check and verify infrastructure installation to design/spec, and finalize redlines for closeout.
  • Fiber: Use internal tracker to update designs and verify all Fiber scope.
  • Copper: Use internal tracker for close-out and verify installations.
  • Network: Configure details if needed and collaborate with team.

  Test Audits

  • Run and verify tests after projects are complete.
  • Create and make available testing projects as soon as areas are ready.
  • Start running audits after each post is done and finalize once retests are completed.
  • Conform testing audit package once all areas are audited.

  Lessons Learned

  • Update lessons learned document throughout the build.
  • Finalize/review standardized lessons learned template at the end of each project.

  Warranties

  • Field Engineer handles warranty submissions at the end of the build.

  Product Submittals

  • Field Engineer completes product submittals, including verifying BOM and obtaining product sheets.

  RFI’s

  • Field Engineer oversees RFIs before submission.
  • Conforms and submits RFIs collaboratively.
  • Any design-related feedback becomes lessons learned.

  Design (Shop Drawings)

  • Field Engineer oversees design work.
  • Verifies and brainstorms areas needing improvement.
  • Reviews and submits into BIM360.

  Education, Certification, License, and Skill Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED equivalency, Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • At least 3-4 years of commercial low-voltage/structured cabling experience.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.
  • Meets company driving standards.

  Minimum Years of Experience

  • 0-2 years.

  License Required

  • No license required.
