Field Engineer (Entry Level)

About the role

This role is ideal for someone early in their career—whether through school, internships, co-ops, construction experience, or related engineering exposure—who is ready to roll up their sleeves, learn from experienced professionals, and earn increasing responsibility over time.

Responsibilities

  • Aid with site investigations, field reconnaissance, and construction observations.
  • Perform field data collection and site assessments.
  • Support stormwater, wastewater, and environmental engineering projects.
  • Assist with site grading, volume calculations, and engineering analyses.
  • Work alongside project managers and senior engineers to solve project challenges.
  • Prepare calculations, documentation, reports, and project deliverables.
  • Travel to project sites throughout the region as needed.
  • Learn the engineering, permitting, design, and construction process from project kickoff through completion.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related field.
  • Internship, co-op, academic project, or early-career experience in engineering, environmental services, construction, or a related field.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to work independently while also contributing to a team environment.

Preferred

  • EIT certification or plans to pursue FE/EIT certification.
  • Exposure to AutoCAD.
  • Coursework or experience related to environmental compliance, remediation, land development, stormwater, wastewater, or site development.
  • Interest in pursuing professional licensure in the future.
