About the role

The Field Sales Engineer will work remotely in the New England region, traveling up to 60% of the time. They will be part of the Tools and Outdoor team, focusing on developing a strong technical understanding of specified fastening products, establishing relationships with key engineering firms, and supporting sales efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a strong technical understanding of specified fastening products (DEWALT brand).
  • Establish relationships with key specifying engineering firms in the territory.
  • Influence designers, architects, and engineers to specify fasteners through regular visits and technical communication.
  • Hold regular technical presentations and training seminars for design professionals.
  • Support local sales efforts from a technical level, including jobsite visits.
  • Ensure that submittals generated by contractors are approved by architects and engineers.
  • Embrace and become versed in construction technology and future trends influencing the specified fasteners business such as Building Information Modeling, Integrated Project Delivery, and construction software.
  • Develop and maintain client records in CRM tools.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil/Structural Engineering or equivalent qualifications.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in design engineering, technical support, or technical sales role.
  • E.I.T / FE certified; Professional Engineering (P.E.) license preferred.
  • Construction Industry / Jobsite experience preferred.
  • A valid driver’s license.

  • Technical knowledge of products to support and build sales on specification and conversion.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in construction technology and future trends.

Skills

  • Technical expertise in fastening products and construction codes.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Knowledge of Building Information Modeling and Integrated Project Delivery.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $62,200- $100,200. The salary offered within the range may vary depending on multiple factors including job level, geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and in compliance with local wage requirements.

Schedule

This is a remote position with up to 60% travel required.
