Field Engineer
About the role
TTI Field Engineering (TTIFE) provides a broad range of Field Engineering services to clients and end-users of large industrial power generation and compression equipment in the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, and Refining industries. Our services cover performance, thermodynamics and heat transfer, vibration, and analysis of rotating and fixed equipment.
The Field Engineer is responsible for collecting operating data using data acquisition systems connected to field-installed sensors and cabling. This data, combined with vendor/OEM documentation, drawings, and engineering specifications, is used to analyze customer equipment and provide guidance for improved reliability and continued operation.
The TTIFE Field Engineer will collect, assess, and evaluate data either in the field or in the office, applying fundamental engineering principles to both rotating and fixed equipment. Responsibilities include gathering process operating data, vibration data, and other relevant information to assess equipment condition, determine root causes, or evaluate overall equipment health. Data collection may vary in duration from minutes to hours, potentially requiring a full day per piece of equipment.
After data collection, the Field Engineer will disconnect and remove sensors, disassemble diagnostic equipment, and ensure proper storage and maintenance. They may also collect precise equipment operating data (e.g., pressure, temperature, speed, flow rate) and document equipment conditions. This data is provided to the Field Engineering manager for analysis, with findings and recommendations presented to the client.
The role requires a self-starter comfortable seeking advice or counsel, with a strong emphasis on safety and the ability to collect precise, accurate data for analysis.
