About The Role

  • Support project teams in planning, coordination, and execution of utility construction activities.
  • Aid in interpreting construction drawings, utility maps, and specifications for crews and subcontractors.
  • Maintain oversight of field progress, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, project plans, and quality standards.
  • Coordinate with engineers and project managers.
  • Perform field surveys, inspections, and as-built documentation.
  • Keep daily project logs, progress photos, and quantity tracking.
  • Resolve technical or design issues during construction, escalating when necessary.
  • Ensure utility locates and permits are in place prior to construction.
  • Support material tracking, equipment logistics, and schedule updates.
  • Promote and enforce jobsite safety practices in compliance with OSHA and company policies.

Key Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree in engineering—preferably in electrical or mechanical fields—is recommended.
  • 1–3 years of experience in construction or utility field work (internships or co-ops considered).
  • Familiarity with utility infrastructure preferred (e.g., underground electric, gas mains, water/sewer lines).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Understanding of construction documents, specifications, and safety standards.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varied weather and field conditions.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to job sites.
