Responsibilities

  • Cook up deliverables for construction closeout and turnover package development, including reviewing and closing out all subcontractor submittals, construction and verification test data, and subcontractor as-built documentation.
  • Prepare engineering closeout documentation as part of client engineering verification of the construction turnover documentation.
  • Provide Field Engineering expertise for development and management of project requirements, and verification/tracking of requirements through the project life cycle.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 8 years of related experience.
  • Demonstrated understanding of capital construction projects.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent leadership and organizational skills.
  • Capability to organize project documentation using various means (e.g., spreadsheets, databases).
  • Capability with MS Office Suite and willingness to learn new software packages.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interface with clients, contractors, and consultants on a daily basis.
  • Self-starter with ability to work with limited oversight.
  • Candidates must be able to work onsite at LANL.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Q clearance.
  • The candidate must have an active Real ID diver's license for badging and onboarding.

Desired Skills

  • Experience in one or more of the following areas is preferred: Structural engineering experience, Electrical engineering experience, Mechanical engineering experience, Process (Mechanical or Chemical) experience, Equipment engineering, Piping and instrumentation.
  • Previous experience working at LANL and/or nuclear facilities is preferred.
  • An active or recently inactive DOE Q or DOD Top Secret clearance is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should meet one of the following: bachelor's degree plus 8 years of experience, OR associate’s degree with 10 years of experience, OR high school diploma plus 12 years of experience.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to perform walk downs onsite.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Be able to work in an environment with open discussions and visitors without getting distracted.
  • May be required to lift up to 20 lbs.

  • Construction site visits require wearing of hard hats, safety glasses, hard toe shoes, and climbing of ladders.
  • May be required to travel to other office locations.
  • May be required to travel to client facilities or fabrication and manufacturing facilities.
