Responsibilities
- Cook up deliverables for construction closeout and turnover package development, including reviewing and closing out all subcontractor submittals, construction and verification test data, and subcontractor as-built documentation.
- Prepare engineering closeout documentation as part of client engineering verification of the construction turnover documentation.
- Provide Field Engineering expertise for development and management of project requirements, and verification/tracking of requirements through the project life cycle.
Requirements
- Minimum of 8 years of related experience.
- Demonstrated understanding of capital construction projects.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent leadership and organizational skills.
- Capability to organize project documentation using various means (e.g., spreadsheets, databases).
- Capability with MS Office Suite and willingness to learn new software packages.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interface with clients, contractors, and consultants on a daily basis.
- Self-starter with ability to work with limited oversight.
- Candidates must be able to work onsite at LANL.
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Q clearance.
- The candidate must have an active Real ID diver's license for badging and onboarding.
Desired Skills
- Experience in one or more of the following areas is preferred: Structural engineering experience, Electrical engineering experience, Mechanical engineering experience, Process (Mechanical or Chemical) experience, Equipment engineering, Piping and instrumentation.
- Previous experience working at LANL and/or nuclear facilities is preferred.
- An active or recently inactive DOE Q or DOD Top Secret clearance is a plus.
Qualifications
- Candidates should meet one of the following: bachelor's degree plus 8 years of experience, OR associate’s degree with 10 years of experience, OR high school diploma plus 12 years of experience.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to perform walk downs onsite.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Be able to work in an environment with open discussions and visitors without getting distracted.
- May be required to lift up to 20 lbs.

- Construction site visits require wearing of hard hats, safety glasses, hard toe shoes, and climbing of ladders.
