Field Engineer

Field Engineer – Heavy Civil / Excavation Onyx Corporation is seeking a motivated Field Engineer to join our heavy civil and excavation team. This is a hands-on position supporting Project Managers in the field and providing an opportunity to grow your career in construction with a family-owned company. Key Responsibilities Support Project Managers with daily field operations.Review plans, specifications, elevations, grades, and construction details.Assist with excavation, grading, drainage, utilities, and sitework activities.Track project quantities, production, materials, trucking, and equipment.Maintain daily reports, project documentation, photographs, and field records.Assist with quantity takeoffs, change orders, and project cost tracking.Coordinate with field crews, subcontractors, vendors, inspectors, and project teams.Identify field issues and help develop practical solutions.Monitor work for quality, safety, and compliance with project plans.Participate in project meetings and assist with scheduling and coordination. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.Construction or field experience preferred; internships considered.Ability to read and understand construction plans and specifications.Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.Experience with HCSS, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, GPS/GNSS, or similar construction technology is a plus.Valid driver's license.Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
