About the role
We are currently seeking Field Engineers to join our ever growing team at Landmark Construction!!! Responsibilities
- Maintain logs and estimates of site specific materials to ensure materials are not over or under ordered
- Responsible for staff accountability, equipment, and minimizing overall production cost
- Delegation with Foremen, Superintendents, contractors and vendors
- Aid in on-site project work, including setup, measurements, and coordination with team members
- Operate and maintain field equipment such as GPS units, rovers, and data collectors
- Run and manage rover systems to capture accurate field data
- Collect, record, and verify field data using data collectors and related tools
- Support project documentation, including field notes, reports, and paperwork
- Ensure all work is completed in compliance with company standards and safety regulations
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, crew members, and office staff
Requirements
- Successful pre-employment background check for LMC and all military bases is required
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen is required
Safety
- Operate heavy equipment in a safe and effective manner in order to minimize the risk of injury, property damage or loss of life
- Inspect the worksite daily to insure a safe work environment
- Identify possible hazards with work tasks, tools, and work area - both above and below ground
- Confirm that all underground utilities have been located each day
- Report all accidents and incidents to project foreman and superintendent (regardless of how minor) as soon as possible
- Responsible for accessible, clean & organized work site
Qualifications and Standards
- Physical Requirements: Work involves sitting, walking or standing for extended periods of time in various adverse weather conditions Must be able to repeatedly lift and/or carry weights of five to fifty pounds Requires the ability of speaking and/or signaling people to convey or exchange information Must have minimal levels of eye/hand/foot coordination
- Numerical Aptitude: This position requires the ability to utilize mathematical formulas; adding and subtracting totals; multiplying and dividing Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment, safety glasses, hard hat with chin strap, reflective safety vest, gloves, ear protection, face shield, safety toe boots
- Minimum Training: Minimum 2 years of construction experience or combination of education and experience is preferred Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Business Administration, Civil Engineering, or similarly related degree Knowledge of principals, methods and standards of the designated trade’s area Experience in the use and methods of tools and equipment commonly employed with the trade Ability to read and understand plans and specifications Performs work in accordance with standards and specifications
