Field Engineer

About the role

The Field Engineer (FE) position is designed to support the Superintendent in field management tasks, including project layout, supervision of trades, and quality control.

Responsibilities

• Project layout (surveying) in compliance with design and contract documents.
• Check concrete forms for accuracy and adequacy of construction, including embedded items, before placement of concrete.
• Perform production trend analysis for quantities of work in place and prepare weekly and monthly schedule and cost control reports.
• Aid in quality control, site safety initiatives, and coordination of trade partners as directed by the project superintendent.
• Coordinate material deliveries, inspect materials, and direct small work forces to gain supervisory experience.
• Participate in jobsite safety meetings, safety audits, and collaborate with the VDC team on field operations.

Requirements

• A 4-year degree in Civil, Structural, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field.
• One year of experience and/or a combination of education and experience.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Strong communication skills.
• Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel-based templates, ProjectSight, Primavera, and AutoDesk Suite.

Qualifications

• Past internships in the construction industry are preferred, but not required.

• Proficiency in 3D model viewing and scheduling software.
