About the role
The Field Engineer (FE) position is designed to support the Superintendent in field management tasks, including project layout, supervision of trades, and quality control.
Responsibilities
- Project layout (surveying) in compliance with design and contract documents.
- Check concrete forms for accuracy and adequacy of construction, including embedded items, before placement of concrete.
- Perform production trend analysis for quantities of work in place and prepare weekly and monthly schedule and cost control reports.
- Aid in quality control, site safety initiatives, and coordination of trade partners as directed by the project superintendent.
- Coordinate material deliveries, inspect materials, and direct small work forces to gain supervisory experience.
- Participate in jobsite safety meetings, safety audits, and collaborate with the VDC team on field operations.
Requirements
- A 4-year degree in Civil, Structural, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field.
- One year of experience and/or a combination of education and experience.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Strong communication skills.
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel-based templates, ProjectSight, Primavera, and AutoDesk Suite.
Qualifications
- Past internships in the construction industry are preferred, but not required.
