Field Engineer

Responsibilities

• Aid in the layout of building items, focusing on structural, civil, process, and architectural elements.
• Support the procurement of construction materials and monitor delivery schedules.
• Conduct material placed surveys as needed and ensure accuracy of quantities reported.
• Schedule and oversee construction activities, including managing subcontractor performance.
• Create bid lists, review bids, and evaluate proposals under the guidance of the Site Manager.
• Maintain high safety and QA/QC standards, conduct safety meetings, and review shop drawings.
• Assist in preparing and recording daily and monthly reports, including quality assurance audits.
• Communicate with city officials, OSHA, and inspectors to ensure compliance with project specifications.
• Manage subcontractors as assigned by the Site Manager and keep up-to-date progress drawings.
• Generate meeting agendas and minutes, and bring out-of-spec issues to the attention of the Site Manager and Project Management staff.
• Handle customer requests and communicate with the Site Manager and Project Manager as necessary.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or a minimum of 2 years of related construction experience.
• 4+ years of relevant construction experience in lieu of a degree.
• Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Strong work ethic, energetic, self-motivated, and passionate about collaboration and professional development.
• Ability to work in a team environment and adapt to a fast-paced, innovative setting.
• Travel required due to the nature of the job, which involves working on various job sites across the United States and internationally.
