Field Engineer

ENTACT is a premier national provider of environmental, civil, and geotechnical construction services. About the role

The Field Engineer will work closely with the management and health and safety team, focusing on quality control, surveying, KPI tracking, and other responsibilities related to the proper and timely execution of ENTACT projects. This role requires self-motivation, effective communication in a team setting, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment. Candidates must be open to sustained project-based travel within the U.S. (at least 80% of the time) and hold a valid driver’s license with no restrictions. ENTACT provides per diem/living allowance and paid monthly trips home.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related field
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams)
• Strong teamwork skills with the ability to meet deadlines, goals, and objectives
• Design, planning, and communication skills that promote safe work and safe work products
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
• Highly motivated with the ability to take initiative
• Strong organization, time management, and attention to detail
• Valid driver’s license with no restrictions

Preferred Qualifications

• HAZWOPER 40-hour training
• Experience with Trimble Business Center or AutoCAD Civil 3D

Work Environment

The Field Engineer primarily works in a construction/field setting and occasionally in a typical office environment. The role involves:

• Working on rugged, uneven, or broken ground
• Exposure to hot, cold, or noisy environments
• Potential exposure to contaminated atmospheres (e.g., fumes, vapors, lead dust, H₂S) controlled to safe levels
• Confined spaces
• Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, safety glasses, hearing protection, respirators, steel-toe boots, and protective coveralls
• Ability to work under physical stress conditions (e.g., heat, cold, long workdays)
• Climbing stairs, ladders, or working from elevated platforms
• Donning respirators, which may require being clean-shaven

Physical Demands
