About the role
The Field Engineer will serve as engineering support for our sales team, assisting with construction management and after-sales field support. This role requires frequent travel to job sites throughout a specific territory and is based at our sales office in Dallas. The position involves a combination of field and office work, extensive formalized training, and mentorship to develop skills in CaptiveAire products, troubleshooting, and application engineering processes.
Responsibilities
- Provide product support by troubleshooting issues with existing and newly installed equipment in the field and delivering immediate solutions
- Maintain expert-level knowledge of all CaptiveAire products
- Work closely with engineering, service, local sales teams, and customers to identify optimal outcomes for installed jobs
- Attend construction trade coordination meetings and equipment startups on site to ensure successful outcomes
- Review and analyze data from installed equipment to drive product improvements using the CASLink remote monitoring system
- Apply mechanical building design knowledge to review customer applications and recommend operational improvements
- Conduct third-party training for outside contractors on CaptiveAire products
- Provide reports to the Regional Manager and other teams on customer feedback, challenges, quality, and product improvements/issues
- Combine field work with data analysis and remote troubleshooting using building management systems
Qualifications
- 0–5 years of experience
- Preferred: 4-year technical degree in mechanical, electrical, construction, or science-oriented curriculum
- Preferred: Hands-on technical internship or co-op experience
- Must enjoy hands-on product exposure
- Strongly preferred: HVAC and/or electrical experience
- Must demonstrate multi-tasking, problem-solving, and strong communication skills
- For engineering graduates: Expectation to complete the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam within 6 months of employment
- Must be self-motivated and proactive (“go-getter” attitude)
- Must be able to travel for training

Pay
$70,000–$100,000 base salary, negotiable based on experience, with additional monthly bonus tied to productivity and profits.
