Field Engineer

About the role

Stiles Renewables is seeking a Field Engineer to support technical field operations on-site and oversee various administrative and technical tasks in both the field and field office, ensuring project success and operational efficiency for utility-scale renewable energy projects, including solar, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), and substation construction. This role requires daily on-site presence during construction activities.

Responsibilities

• Proactively support the Electrical Superintendent in front-line field management by coordinating on-site construction activities across civil, mechanical, electrical, and substation scopes of work
• Supervise trade partners and/or subcontractor employees, as assigned
• Evaluate and distribute project design and engineering documents
• Assist with site mobilization planning and preparation activities
• Support field surveying and work layout activities
• Conduct site inspections to monitor work progress, quality, safety, and compliance with project requirements
• Assist with QA/QC, site safety initiatives, and trade partner coordination, as assigned
• Collaborate with the project team on the project execution plan and field operation deliverables, including estimating, preconstruction activities, project manhours, and certified payroll compliance
• Coordinate material deliveries by reviewing material requirements in advance and comparing them to delivery schedules and status. Inspect materials delivered to the site for quantity, quality, and condition, and report any missing, damaged, or non-conforming items
• Oversee inventory processes to ensure accurate tracking, proper storage, and availability of materials to support project operations
• Assist in interpretation of plans and specifications for field crews and craft supervision
