Field Director

About the role

We are hiring Field Directors to manage our offices in Charlotte, NC. The Field Director will recruit, train, and manage a team of local canvassers to contact Latino voters at the door and grow our community’s political power. They will work within the director team to build an office from the ground up, training voter contact canvassers in the field while canvassing themselves to lead by example. The Field Director communicates long and short-term goals to staff, manages campaign reporting, and oversees canvassers and Team Leads, reporting to the Lead Director.

The Lead Campaign Director will manage a team of one or more Deputy Directors and is responsible for scaling the office, reporting to the Project Director. We’re working to ensure every family in North Carolina can live free from fear and build the future they deserve, amplifying the voices of the state’s 1.2 million Latinos—one of the fastest-growing communities in North Carolina.

Responsibilities

• Manage a team of 40–60 hourly staff who will canvass door-to-door to engage voters about defending immigrant rights and growing Latino political power
• Canvass yourself several days a week to train staff and drive office goals
• Set goals and hold staff accountable to them
• Train and provide ongoing motivation and support to staff
• Identify, promote, and train a leadership team
• Build a diverse team where staff feel respected while fostering a culture of equity and justice
• Implement quality control measures to ensure the integrity of the work
• Maintain a healthy and safe working environment for all staff
• Develop strategic plans to reach targeted voters in assigned locations
• Manage administrative duties, including reporting data, record keeping, processing payroll, and distribution of materials

Requirements

• Leadership experience; ability to motivate, grow, and manage a large team
• Eagerness to lead from the front and canvass several days a week
• Extreme attention to detail and a proven ability to instill that quality in others
• Self-starter with excellent problem-solving skills
• Strong passion for community organizing and fostering civic engagement
• Track record of equity and inclusion
• Ability to work long hours, including evenings and weekends

Skills

• Experience running paid canvasses or managing paid employees (preferred)
• Familiarity with VAN and MiniVAN (preferred)
• Experience working in underserved or marginalized communities (preferred)
• Facilitation experience (preferred)
• Local knowledge/experience (preferred)
• Bilingual – fluency in Spanish (preferred)

Pay

The salary range for this position is $1,146 – $1,500 per week.
