About the role
MGX Field Crane Technicians inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain various crane equipment including mobile cranes and boom trucks. This position is located at the Baton Rouge, LA branch of MGX Equipment Services and reports to the Service Manager.
Responsibilities
- Light diagnosis, repair, and troubleshooting of various mobile hydraulic and lattice cranes.
- Able to accomplish tasks independently without direct supervision.
- Performs thorough and accurate annual inspections.
- Properly fills out working reports, hours reports, time sheets, hours overviews, and expense reports.
- Provides excellent customer service.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must have a mechanical background and related experience with electrical and hydraulics; and be able to read both electrical and hydraulic schematics.
- Experience in preventative maintenance and light equipment repair (i.e. oil changes, break jobs, etc.).
- May be required to travel to job sites and for training up to 50% of the time.
- Excellent communication skills with a customer/client focus.
- Basic computer skills preferred.
- Experience working with different forms of mobile crane and/or heavy equipment is a plus.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- A minimum of one (1) year of experience as a Crane Mechanic/Technician preferred.
