About the role

This position works closely with union organizers and contributing employers to coordinate sector activities and support healthcare workforce training needs through labor-management committees. The role involves developing and maintaining stakeholder relationships, program development and oversight, data management, and participant recruitment and case management.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate and coordinate with union organizers and contributing employers to ensure awareness and readiness for sector activities.
  • Collaborate with labor-management committees to identify workforce training needs aligned with healthcare institutions’ operational goals.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with labor-management stakeholders through meetings, project coordination, and ongoing communication.
  • Participate in screening, selection, observation, and evaluation of contracted educational providers; review curricula and address participant and instructor feedback.
  • Source and scope new program development within and across TEF departments and stakeholder groups.
  • Assist in the development, implementation, evaluation, and oversight of worksite programs and projects to provide career advancement and services for workers and employers under joint labor-management committees.
  • Gather participant feedback, identify service improvements, document complaints, and escalate issues to TEF supervisor as appropriate.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations, contribute to project reports, and create pre-obligation documents for contracts; monitor budgets.
  • Collect, analyze, and maintain program data; conduct quality assurance reviews and prepare reports to support program reporting and decision-making.
  • Coordinate training and employment committee meetings and related activities with labor-management stakeholders.
  • Recruit, enroll, case manage, and coordinate document collection from prospective program participants.
  • Promote and market educational, career, employment, and workforce development programs to increase participant engagement and service utilization.
  • Prepare/process worker-trainer and vendor schedules/payments and coordinate training classes.
  • Register participants, monitor attendance, maintain accurate records, and ensure timely submission of required documentation to appropriate TEF staff/departments.
  • Perform additional duties, special projects, and assignments as directed by management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Counseling, or equivalent years of experience required.
  • Minimum five (5) years’ experience in workforce development programs, higher education, training, career counseling, or labor-management programs.
  • Intermediate skill level in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent knowledge of adult education principles, best practices, career/educational pathways, and group facilitation/dynamics.
  • Experience with healthcare or unions highly preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; strong interpersonal, leadership, and teamwork skills; ability to maintain strong partnerships with union and employer partners.
  • Excellent presentational and organizational skills; ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and work under pressure.
  • Ability to travel to various sites in New York City and the Greater New York area (including Long Island, Westchester, and Hudson Valley as needed).
  • Available to work flexible hours including some evenings and Saturdays as required.
