Field Construction Coordinator
Role Expectations
- Field Support to Resolve Problems – Being Proactive
- Must do Reporting – Weekly Report, Monthly Reports, tracking of weekly PayId’s completed.
- Monitor Schedule - Look Ahead vs. PM
- Attend the contractor’s Safety, Environment and Quality meetings; provide a tip in the onsite meeting.
- Maintain and update as needed the onsite H&S, Environment and Quality project binder.
- Be organized, and document all project progress to provide a good paper trail
- Review contractor invoices and schedules and provide feedback.
- Conduct weekly project progress meeting. Request the contractor two week look ahead schedule at each weekly meeting.
- Present onsite when work is being performed (make frequent observation of contractor’s activities).
- Immediate notification to PM of all problems or foreseeable issues throughout construction, or any complaint presented by the general public.
- Cook material delivery between Customer Stockroom, and Contractor.
- Inspect all project related construction material for damage and completeness for the project execution.
- Inspect work in progress to ensure that workmanship conforms to specifications, quality and adherence to construction schedules.
- Facilitate resolving construction problems, discrepancies, procedures, and methods by working with engineering personnel, inspectors, contractors and suppliers.
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in progressive related electric utility industry experience, with transmission facilities construction management
- Two (2) years of college is preferred
- Construction Project Engineer Background Preferred
- Distribution line work experience required
- MS Suite Required – with high competency in MS Excel
- Knowledge of NRA clearances and switching orders would be beneficial
- Applicants should have the knowledge, experience and skills needed to review project plans, specifications, contract enforcement, and applicable technical standards, OSHA and other regulatory statutes.
- Detailed work experience in electrical Utility transmission UV/OV & civil construction
- Minimum of 5 years of supervisory capacity experience
- Knowledge of GPS Systems & knowledge of SAP are preferred
- Ability to read and interpret specifications and drawings and convey interpretations to contractors
- Ability to investigate and solve construction problems in a timely manner with minimum dependence on others
- Computer and Administrative skills
- Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Must be able and willing to attend training in E-STAR/CONVEX (switching and tagging).
- Initiate distribution outage requests for project work through E-STAR and/or CONVEX
Pay Range
$40—$46/an hour
