Field Clinical Nurse Educator/Neurology - DC
About the role
Momentum Life Sciences seeks a Patient Educator to train patients and healthcare professionals on oral therapies for narcolepsy and idiopathic hypersomnia. This hybrid field/virtual role involves building ongoing relationships to educate and empower patients.
Responsibilities
- Train on pre-approved curriculum for various audiences including patients, caregivers, healthcare professionals, and office staff.
- Encourage patient initiation and support processes, and strategies that influence patient confidence.
- Provide education related to the prescribed product and recommend patient/caregiver resources such as support groups, HUB services, specialty pharmacy, financial resources, etc.
- Build relationships with healthcare providers, office staff, and other clinical educators; address HCP needs and promote educator services based on patient needs.
- Collaborate with other client field teams to identify educational opportunities within accounts.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to educate healthcare providers and improve patient outcomes using approved educational materials.
- Advise on industry insights and innovative approaches for training curriculum or program design.
- Ensure all activities comply with VMS, client, and industry mandates.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in nursing with at least 3 years of patient education experience.
- Current, unrestricted RN or NP licensure.
- Must maintain a valid driver’s license.
Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree.
Skills
- Background in neurological conditions and/or rare diseases.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-functional partners and stakeholders.
- Proven presentation and training experiences with multiple audiences, both in-person and virtually.
- Adaptability to changing business demands and product relevance in a fast-paced environment.
- Competent and comfortable using technology, including video platforms, tablets, projectors, etc.
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
Other
This position requires weekly overnight travel (1-2 overnights per week) and the ability to provide own reliable transportation.
Working Conditions
The role is generally sedentary in nature but may require standing and walking up to 10% of the time. The working environment is generally favorable with adequate lighting and temperature. There are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. Work is performed within an office environment with standard office equipment.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to read, write, and communicate fluently in English. Must have the ability to hear, listen, and speak effectively. Must be able to lift and move 20 lbs.
