Field Certification Inspector - US

What You Will Do

• Perform field inspections and assessments of hazardous location electrical equipment in various settings.
• Prepare field certification reports on inspected products, documenting findings and issuing certifications of conformity.
• Interact with clients, providing clear guidance on any changes needed to bring products into compliance and ensure eligibility for certification.
• Review technical documents, wiring diagrams, and ensure compliance with industry codes and standards, including CSA C22.1, NFPA 70, and other relevant regulations.
• Manage your travel arrangements and ensure that projects are completed on time and invoiced promptly.
• Submit weekly reports, and maintain proper documentation of inspections, including non-compliance issues and corrective actions.
• Stay current with industry standards and best practices through ongoing learning and internal/external training programs.

What You Need to Succeed

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Certifications: Journeyman or Master Electrician credentials is desired.
• Experience: Proven experience as a field inspector in the electrical industry or a similar role with strong knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and certification processes.
• Technical Expertise: Knowledge of UL/CSA C22.2 Hazardous Location Product Standards and C22.1/NFPA 70 installation requirements, and other relevant industry standards. Hands-on experience with electrical product inspections and site assessments.
• Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients and team members.
• Analytical Skills: Ability to assess complex technical documentation and make decisions in the field regarding compliance.
• Tools & Equipment: Proficiency in using inspection tools and equipment.
• Physical: Must be able to sit, stand, bend, reach and lift up to 50lbs.
