Field Biologist

About the role

The Field Biologist position is located in Alma, IL. The role is full-time, with a pay range of $42,000 - $45,000 annually, commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage customer's aquatic resources through seasonal visits.
• Initiate aquatic applications, water quality enhancement, aeration, and other practices.
• Provide detailed data entry and processing on aquatic management.
• Analyze clients' needs and offer technical support for products sold.
• Engage in problem-solving by collaborating with industry partners and developing solutions for customer projects.
• Seasonally install and remove pond aeration equipment, and maintain fleet vehicles and application equipment.
• Focus on commercial aquatic applications within the pond management department.
• Develop and implement management plans for clients.
• Assess clients' lakes and ponds, initiating appropriate management protocols.
• Conduct water and sediment sampling.
• Manage aquatic plant populations and identify species.
• Install and maintain aeration systems and decorative fountains.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree or higher in Biology, Water Resources, Fisheries-related courses, or equivalent work experience.
• Well-organized, highly motivated, and able to work effectively with a team of professionals.
• Current driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, bend at waist and knees, lift arms over shoulder, work extended hours in various weather conditions, and swim.

Special Conditions of Employment

• Must obtain an Applicators License within 30 days of employment.
