Duties/Responsibilities
- Participate in and lead a two-person team with the Field Based Peer Specialist.
- Work collaboratively with shelter staff to address the needs of clients with substance use disorders in the shelter system.
- Supervise Peer Specialists.
- Use crisis management, motivational interviewing, and harm reduction strategies with clients who experienced an overdose or adverse effect from substances.
- Use trauma informed practices to engage clients.
- Conduct SBIRT screenings.
- Assist Peer(s) in providing NARCAN training and other harm reduction education to all clients in the shelter program.
- Utilize group and individual formats to assist clients in making and achieving both harm reduction and recovery goals.
- Create linkages and referrals for clients.
- Document progress in notes, and complete monthly reporting for DHS.
Qualifications
- MSW required.
- LMSW or LCSW license, CASAC preferred.
- CPR training certification or willingness to take training class in CPR/First Aid/Narcan.
- Basic computer literacy required.

Hours
Full-week 37.5 hours per week Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm 4 full days in field 1 full day in office
Supervision
Position will be supervised by licensed clinical staff in the outpatient 822 program. Clinical hours in this position are in a qualified setting for clinical experience hours.
