Field Archaeologist - On-call (Eastern Sierras, Needles, Victorville)

About the role

ICF is currently seeking On-Call (Temporary) Archaeologists based in the Eastern Sierras. This position assists senior archaeologists in fieldwork tasks including survey, testing, evaluation, data recovery, and construction monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Assist senior archaeologists in fieldwork tasks
• Conduct survey, testing, evaluation, data recovery, and construction monitoring
• Conduct laboratory analysis
• Conduct background research
• Assist with report preparation
• Perform other tasks as assigned

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, or related field
• 1+ years of field experience in archaeological monitoring and survey
• Valid driver’s license and successful completion of a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check

What We Would Like You To Have

• Ability to communicate and coordinate effectively with ICF senior staff and construction personnel
• Knowledge and familiarity with computers and smart devices
• Background in precontact or historic-period archaeology
• Ability to conduct field visits at locations throughout Southern California
• Active 40-hour HAZWOPER training
• Experience working with and communicating with construction crews

Pay

The pay range for this position based on full-time employment is: $50,386.00 - $103,643.00
