About the role

The Roche Support Network is dedicated to providing exceptional support to customers. As a Field Applications Specialist, you will:

  • Act as the primary liaison/customer representative throughout the implementation process and future histology application support.
  • Plan and coordinate for the implementation and customer training, as well as problem-solving issues that arise for customers throughout the life cycle of the solution.
  • Provide highly visible, self-supervised and self-directed, extensive on-site advisory customer support through the implementation of Roche Tissue instrumentation and tailored customer training on our Roche solutions to meet customer needs based on an individualized assessment of the customer’s personnel, organizational structure, workflow, and maximization of equipment capabilities, which may include: equipment, applications, systems, and IT solutions.
  • Act as an advisor on customer issues and drive efficiencies & optimization for the customer and Roche through independent analysis and problem-solving.
  • Identify opportunities for new system consumables for clients (i.e. reagents, primary antibodies, bio-markers, software).

Responsibilities

As a Field Applications Specialist, you will:

  • Perform these job duties remotely and independently.
  • Advanced and specialized knowledge generally of a particular area, system, or equipment with regard to technologically advanced instruments and scientific applications.
  • Utilize independent judgment and discretion in the analysis of customer particularized needs and issues that arise both during and after the implementation process.
  • Adapt procedures, processes, tools, equipment, and techniques to meet the more complex requirements of the position.
  • Independently analyze and resolve most customer questions and problems and refer only the most complex issues to higher levels.
  • Maintain and continuously improve the quality system and achieve quality objectives through daily actions.

Requirements

Requirements for this role include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Information Technology, Computer Science, Chemistry, Biology or Clinical Laboratory or equivalent work experience.
  • 3+ years of experience implementing and evaluating complex laboratory, IT products, medical diagnostic equipment, reagents and/or systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Pharma, Academia and research with Roche Discovery products.
  • Ability to learn and remain current on Roche solutions across various fields, including histology and discovery ultra.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, along with project management experience.
  • Strong customer consultative skills, including advanced scientific knowledge, exceptional customer engagement, and the ability to foster strong customer relationships.
