Field Applications Specialist- Phoenix, Arizona

About the role

As a Field Application Specialist at Cepheid, you will provide in-field assistance to the Diagnostic Sales team for pre- and post-sale technical activities, with a primary focus on growing the user base of diagnostic products. This role involves offering technical direction and support to customers on instrument operation, assay implementation, and maintenance of company products. You will conduct technical presentations and product demonstrations, collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Technical Support, Service, and global business units to assess and meet customer needs, and work on complex issues requiring in-depth analysis.

This position reports to the West Regional Service Manager and is part of the Customer Care Team, based in Phoenix, Arizona, with a fully remote work arrangement.

Responsibilities

• Install Cepheid instruments and train customers on CLIA waived and Moderate Complex systems and tests.
• Support connectivity solutions into customer laboratories and provide implementation support to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Provide continued support for Cepheid CLIA waived and Moderate Complex instrumentation, software revisions, and reagent ADF changes to current customers.
• Jointly develop account strategies with Sales Representatives to increase and retain Cepheid CLIA waived and Moderate Complex business.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to support implementation activities in health systems involving both CLIA waived and Moderate Complex systems.
• Independently manage an assigned territory, including travel and scheduling aligned with business priorities.
• Act independently to determine methods and procedures for new or special assignments, potentially coordinating activities of other personnel.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of related work experience OR Master’s degree in field with 3+ years of related work experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of Medical Technologist (MT)/Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) experience OR minimum of 3 years’ formal training experience; OR any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background.
• Travel up to 75%, including by car and air, with possible long wait times at airports. Territory includes: Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico, Utah, Colorado, Hawaii, and Southern California.
• Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
• Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Preferred Skills

• Previous experience as a Field Application Specialist (FAS), MT, CLS, MLS, or MLT training/teaching.
• Demonstrated success in following corporate processes and administrative requirements (e.g., Salesforce.com, Monthly Reports, regulatory requirements).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs (especially PowerPoint), online tools, and systems such as LMS, Content Management, Salesforce.com, Zoom, and Microsoft Teams.

Pay

The annual salary range for this role is $90,000.00 - $100,000.00.

Schedule

This position is eligible for a remote work arrangement, allowing you to work from home. Travel requirements include up to 75% of the time.
